Every Kind of Ghost
Failed interior designer Idalia Vance begins the renovation of her aunt’s dilapidated—and possibly haunted—Appalachian mansion determined to remain detached and professional. But memories of those she lost drift from every corner. Her brother’s suicide a year before crushed her ability to create, and she uses obsessive running and pops sleeping pills to avoid remembering him while beginning an uninspired renovation.
Then two ghosts appear: traumatized, terrified of leaving the house, and determined to “help” Idalia. Recognizing that they’re grieving, she begins helping them solve and make peace with their murders. But the more she helps process their losses, the more deeply she must face her own— and the more she grows to care for the ghosts. Idalia begins falling in love with sweet, quirky ghost Aneirin, the only soul who stays beside her through all her depression and grief. Her creativity begins to return. But if Idalia can’t help Aneirin make peace with his death, he’ll decay into a broken spirit beyond saving. Even if he finds peace, he can’t be whole this side of forever, not even with Idalia. And she will have to break her own heart to save him.
